Fitbit has officially revealed that its first smartwatch, the Fitbit Ionic, will be available worldwide on Oct. 1 for $299.95. Likewise, the company’s wireless headphones, the Fitbit Flyer, will also be available on the same date for $129.95.

Fitbit Ionic Smartwatch Availability

Fitbit says the Ionic smartwatch will be available from major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kohl’s, Macy’s, REI, Target and Verizon. The FitBit Ionic will be available in three color combinations: silver gray with blue gray band, smoke gray with charcoal band, and burnt orange with slate blue band.

Fitbit says the Classic and Sport accessory bands are also going to be available for $29.95, while the Horween leather bands will sell for $59.95, Phone Arena has learned. Other regions that will have the Fitbit Ionic smartwatch are Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Customers can also order the Ionic smartwatch from Fitbit’s website.

“We defined the fitness tracker market 10 years ago and look forward to doing the same with the smartwatch category, delivering what consumers want most and have not yet seen in a smartwatch. Ionic offers up to 5 days battery life for 24/7 health tracking and insights, advanced health and fitness features, enhanced heart rate and dynamic sleep tools paired with the smart functionality consumers need on the go to stay in touch and simplify their life,” Fitbit co-founder and CEO James Park said. “These features, coupled with Ionic’s broad compatibility across Android, iOS and Windows platforms, means consumers around the globe never need to choose between their watch and their phone.”

The Fitbit Ionic features a built-in GPS tracking feature unlike the Fitbit Blaze and the Charge 2. This means that it won’t depend on a tethered smartphone in order to provide GPS data. It also features an accelerometer which can measure altitude and even track the user’s speed, pace and elevation during a run or a jog.

The Fitbit Ionic comes with PurePulse optical heart rate monitor. Fitbit claims that this will be more accurate during cycling and running. The Ionic smartwatch also has the new SpO2 sensor, which is able to measure the wearer’s blood oxygen levels in real-time. The SpO2 sensor also lets the Ionic measure sleep apnea or breathing issue when asleep.

Fitbit Flyer Wireless Headphones Availability

Like the Ionic smartwatch, the Fitbit Flyer wireless headphones will also be available worldwide starting on Oct 1 for $129.95. It will be available from major global retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Brookstone, Nordstrom and Target. It will be available in two colors at launch: lunar gray and nightfall blue.

The Fitbit Flyer’s design is reminiscent of the BeatsX or the Jaybird Freedom wireless headphones. The Fitbit Flyer comes with a sweatproof design and a customizable fit. Fitbit promises that it will be able to deliver an advanced sound performance. It comes with various sound settings: the signature sound or Power Boost, which amplifies the bass, EQ and stereo.

Although the Fitbit Flyer is designed to work together with the Ionic smartwatch, it’s also compatible with other smartwatches and smartphones. Fitbit says that the Flyer wireless headphones will have a six-hour battery life for continuous music playback and a 15-minute charge is enough for one hour of playback.
