realme launches watch, buds in Australian market

Chinese smartphone vendor realme has launched two wearables in the Australian market, a set of buds and a watch, both of which will go on sale from 4 February, the former on pre-order and the latter for purchase.

The realme watch s has a 1.3” auto brightness touchscreen, heart rate and blood oxygen monitors and 16 sport modes.

It is claimed to have a 15-day battery life and will retail for $169. There are a number of colour options, with Silicone (black (default), orange, green and blue) and vegan Leather (brown, blue and green).

realme Australia managing director Andy Yang said: "We are excited to kick off 2021 with the realme watch s launch, the latest innovation within our smartwatch range. This launch is representative of realme’s continued commitment to expanding the range of devices we provide Aussies.

"Throughout 2021, we look forward to launching more devices that bring new and exciting benefits to our customers all at a competitive price point.”

The realme Buds Air Pro are claimed to have 25 hours of battery life, 94ms super low latency and capabilities to cancel noise up to 35 decibels.

They will retail for $199.

"It was through this R&D that we discovered Aussies have an appetite for smart devices. This year, we aim to continue innovating our smart devices so that they offer our customers even more impressive features for a price that doesn’t break the bank.”

Both wearables will be sold at the realme e-store, JB HI-FI, Officeworks, Bing Lee, Make it Mine, mobileciti, 5GWORLD, Essential Appliance Rentals, Amazon, eBay and Catch.com.
