Dave Mallow, best known for his role as the villain Baboo in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has passed away at the age of 76.
Dave portrayed Baboo, one of Rita Repulsa's henchmen, in the popular 90s series. His character was a fan favourite among viewers of the show. Aside from his work on Power Rangers, Dave provided voices for various video game characters, including roles in the Warcraft series. He also voiced characters in Digimon: Digital Monsters, further establishing his versatile voice acting career.
Reports from TMZ confirm that Dave passed away on Tuesday while in hospice care at the MonteCedro Senior Living Community in California. A source close to the actor shared that his health had been steadily deteriorating in recent years. In addition to his acting work, Mallow was a talented writer and director, contributing to several anime projects throughout his career.

Dave 's contribution to the entertainment industry will be remembered by fans and colleagues alike, particularly for his memorable role in Power Rangers.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was filmed from 1993 to 1995. The original series ran for three seasons, with the first episode airing in August 1993. It became a major success and sparked numerous spin-offs and adaptations in the years that followed.
A former colleague shared that Dave's health had been deteriorating over the past few years, and although the news of his death was saddening, it wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fans shared their tributes on X, formerly known as Twitter, with one user writing: "Rest in Peace Dave Mallow, best known for Angemon and his evolutions as well as other digimon plus Rita's henchman Baboo from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and other monsters of the week." Whilst another echoed: "Heartbroken to hear of the passing of veteran voice actor Dave Mallow, he was one of the cornerstones of my childhood with Digimon, Power Rangers & FLCL, rest in peace and thank you for the memories." A third penned: "RIP Dave Mallow," alongside heart emojis.

Dave is survived by his older sister, Marilyn, who lives at the same senior community, MonteCedro. Dave had not been active professionally since 2019. The star completed his high school education at Maine South High School before pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts at Drake University, graduating in 1970. Following a successful stint as a radio personality across the Midwest and New York City, Dave relocated to Los Angeles in 1984 to focus on a career in voice acting.
Aside from his role in Power Rangers, Dave lent his voice to characters in the English version of Digimon and contributed to numerous anime projects as a writer and director. He also voiced characters in well-known video games such as World of Warcraft: Legion, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, and Diablo III.
His diverse work spanned commercials, film dubbing, looping, infomercials, narration, and voice roles for numerous animated shows and video games. Dave's voice appeared as news and sports announcers in films such as Nixon, Eraser, The Waterboy, The Yards, Baseketball, and The Siege, as well as on TV in shows like Everybody Loves Raymond and Roseanne. He also featured in well-known commercials for brands like Bud Ice, Lexus, Energizer, Visa, and IHOP.
