Castor cabin in the countryside
The snug 'Castor cabin' is the perfect place for a digital detox

The Tri-Pod in Ceredigion isn’t your average countryside escape

The Tri-Pod in Ceredigion isn’t your average countryside escape — it’s a showstopper. With its sharp triangular design and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass frontage, this sleek glamping pod offers a modern twist on rural relaxation.

But this isn’t some over-styled novelty. Set on a working farm near Llanarth, it’s an adults-only hideaway that’s as practical as unique. It offers a private hot tub, sweeping views of the countryside and sea, and resident alpacas in the adjacent field to keep you company.

Its timber-clad exterior blends seamlessly with the landscape, while the glass frontage pulls in every inch of those rolling fields and big skies. From the moment you step onto the deck, it’s clear this place is designed for switching off.

Llantony Castaway, Abergavenny

converted railway carriage
This cabin is a brilliant conversion, blending the magical charm of a former railway carriage with the comfort of a luxe hideaway

If you want a digital detox in the Welsh countryside, Llantony Castaway is tucked away in a secluded valley and has no phone signal or WiFi.

This lovingly converted railway carriage has been restored into a romantic glamping cabin for two, where you can dodge phone calls and pesky emails.

Though compact, the main room somehow feels roomy, helped by a large sliding glass door that opens the cabin to the outside valley.

The cabin operates on solar power, which means there is limited electricity for charging devices, but there is light and power for essentials.

The fantastic outdoor space includes a huge oak deck for lazing and lounging and a relaxing hammock by the stream. It's a perfect autumn glamping holiday in the forest, where you can switch off for a few days.
