The great pollening is upon us, and if you're anything like me and have debilitating seasonal allergies, you're going to want to hide indoors to watch this week's best movies and TV shows.

This weekend, April 26-27, we have a wide array of options — with one even tied to current events. The pope died this week, which might have left you wondering: what happens when the Catholic Church's leader passes? Lucky for you, there's a movie less than a year old that answers that very question — and it came back to streaming in rather serendipitous timing.

Also back this week are the final season of a long-running and popular Netflix show and the season 2 premiere of one of Disney+'s Star Wars spinoffs. Scripted shows not your cup of tea? No worries, we've got two comedy specials to tide you over as well as a new season of a reality TV show.

And there's more! Here's a list of the 10 best new movies and shows to watch this weekend and where to stream them.

You season 5

Bye, you! Penn Badgley's Joe Goldberg will no longer haunt our TV screens with his salacious — yet addicting — crimes as his reign as everyone's favorite serial killer (ew?) is officially coming to an end in season 5.

The fifth season of You premiered on Netflix on April 24 and sees Joe back in his glory in New York City. However, a man can't stay happy with a wife and son and success and fame for too long before he runs to the pretty girl he finds whimsically wandering in his bookstore, now can he? Such is life for Joe who begins an affair with Bronte (Madeline Brewer), which may end up having more consequences than he bargained.

Andor season 2 premiere

One of Disney+'s original Star Wars spinoffs may have concluded season 1 nearly three years ago, but that just means it's back and better than ever in season 2.

Starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, the show follows the rebel-turned-spy in his formative years before the events of Rogue One and A New Hope. The first episode premiered on April 22, with three new episodes coming out weekly, making up a 12-episode season.

The Accountant 2

It's been nine years since The Accountant saw Ben Affleck take on the role of Christian Wolff, a math savant who becomes an accountant for the world's greatest criminals, and Jon Bernthal play his brother, Brax.

Now, the siblings are back in the long-awaited sequel and not much has changed: Christian still struggles to connect with people, Brax is still hurt by Christian's distance and the two are still going to work together to get to the bottom of a mystery. Yay for brotherhood!

The Accountant 2 releases in theaters on April 25.

The Conners series finale

After seven seasons (and 40 years of existing in some iteration of the show), The Conners came to an end on April 23. The beloved comedy concluded with an emotional six-part final season that wrapped up each character's storylines.

“I think we just have such a good time and we laugh a lot,” Sara Gilbert, who played Darlene, told PEOPLE in April 2025 of wrapping the show. "It feels like family, and because we did it for so many years, it's sort of deep in our soul. And so that is hard to imagine being without."

Conclave

We have no words to describe this eerie timing other than ... weird coincidence? But just a day after Pope Francis died, Conclave returned to streaming on Prime Video after it was only available for purchase for some time.

The Oscar-winning movie stars Ralph Fiennes as Cardinal Lawrence, who, after the pope dies, is tasked with helping facilitate the conclave, a gathering of the Catholic Church's most powerful leaders as they sequester themselves from the outside world until they elect a new pope.

So, if you're wondering what's going on over in the Vatican City, this movie is a pretty accurate depiction of the answers you seek!

Jessica Kirson: I'm the Man

Jessica Kirson's time is here — and she's claiming it in her new comedy special, Jessica Kirson: I'm the Man.

The comedian shares her take on everything from TikTok girlies to her time at a trauma center, as well as her experience as a mom to four children.

Étoile

If there's one thing about Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of Gilmore Girls, Bunheads and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, it's that she loves a show about a show — especially one that involves ballet.

The beloved producer is back with a new series, Étoile, that focuses on two stressed ballet company directors who decide to swap their Parisian and New York City dancers in an effort to refresh their programming. But dealing with dancers' strong personalities, a struggling art form and high expectations is harder than it seems in this Prime Video show.

On Swift Horses

Daisy Edgar-Jones may have our dream work life. She's starred opposite all of our very serious internet boyfriends Paul Mescal, Glen Powell and Sebastian Stan — and now she's adding Jacob Elordi to that list.

Edgar-Jones is Muriel and Elordi is Julius in On Swift Horses, a pair of in-laws who find they have more in common romantically than they at first thought. While they initially form a love triangle with Muriel's husband and Julius' brother, Lee (Will Poulter), they find their interests have them exploring their sexualities — and keeping each other's secrets.

On Swift Horses releases in theaters on April 25.

Vanderpump Villa season 2

Lisa Vanderpump is already the queen of Bravo but that's not enough for the business owner and namesake of Vanderpump Rules: she is also the mastermind behind Vanderpump Villa.

This season, the reality icon traveled with her staff to Castello Rosato in Italy to entertain a slew of guests, including a fan favorite: Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder.

Brett Goldstein: The Second Best Night of Your Life

So you're saying you didn't find Brett Goldstein funny as the world's greatest Grinch Roy Kent in Ted Lasso or drunk driver Louis Winston in Shrinking? Fair, but the actor is now ready to prove his comedic wit in his first Max stand-up special.

Goldstein leaves no stone unturned, joking about everything from how "hot" he thinks his mom is to different sex positions — and that's just the sneak peek we get in the trailer.

Watch Brett Goldstein: The Second Best Night of Your Life on HBO and Max on April 26.
