Netflix fans have just days to binge all seasons of 'best TV show ever' before it's removed
The beloved series is described by fans as a political version of NCIS
A political drama that has been hailed as 'the best TV show ever' is leaving Netflix in just a few days.
All six seasons of Madam Secretary are currently available on the platform, but Tudum has confirmed the show will be removed from streaming on Thursday, May 15.
It originally aired on CBS from 2014 to 2019, and garnered a loyal following. Set in the Washington D.C, the drama follows Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord, who is appointed by the president following the suspicious death of her predecessor.
As well as holding a challenging role in the White House, Elizabeth also juggles raising three children alongside her supportive husband, Henry.
It's not just the show's thrilling storyline that had viewers hooked for five years, it also boasts an accomplished cast. Bad Boys alum Téa Leoni plays Elizabeth, with Emmy nominee Tim Daly as her husband. They share the screen with Erich Bergen (Jersey Boys), Zeljko Ivanek (The Walking Dead: Dead City) and Patina Miller (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay).
In fact, the actors' performances are hailed by viewers as the finest on TV. "This is one of the best acted, best written shows on network television," wrote a fan on IMDb.
Meanwhile, another viewer crowned the drama as one of their "top ten favorite shows of all time."
Someone else echoed the praise, writing: "From the first season, this series has been on my 'Top TV Series' list and I have looked forward to each episode as it broadcasts. I whole-heartedly give this series a 10 (excellent) out of 10."
Over on X, formerly Twitter, TV fans are just as impressed by the CBS show. "Madam Secretary is the best US political drama TV series I've watched," someone claimed.
A fifth viewer voiced their own verdict, penning: "We watching Madam secretary and I've got to say it's the best TV show I've ever seen... that I had never heard of before watching [sic]."
The first season of Madam Secretary holds a respectable 82 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score from audiences. The following five instalments also scored highly on the platform, with season two earning an impressive 91 per cent score.
Audiences' reviews reflect the high ratings, with one viewer speaking for the entire fanbase, stating: "We love Madam Secretary."
And someone else comparing the show to a beloved franchise, branding it as "NCIS but political."
Madam Secretary is streaming now on Netflix.
