WASHINGTON (7News) — Two key moments in the final seconds gave ninth-ranked Washington Mystics the edge at home over first-ranked Minnesota Lynx, handing the Lynx it's second loss of the season.
Mystics' Shakira Austin tied the game in the fourth quarter. A turnover by the Lynx allowed Sug Sutton a chance to put the Mystics in the lead, and put her on the free throw line for two final points to end the game.
It was the first time both teams met for the 2025 season.
The Mystics entered the game with four wins and three losses at home. Meanwhile, the Lynx entered the game after securing their 12th win of the season against the Los Angeles Sparks on June 21.
The Mystics will face off against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.
